We are excited to announce the Fall Carson Family STEAM Day! Join us for an afternoon full of fun with family and friends, featuring hands-on activities, food, and prizes on Friday, November 7, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Carson Elementary STEAM Magnet, 6905 Kramer St.
This event is open to all family members.

Dear Carson families,
Here is some very important information for our Carson Community!
Food Banks
We have received many requests for food bank information. There are two primary providers of food resources in San Diego: Feeding San Diego and the San Diego Food Bank. They operate out of various locations around the city. We have provided here two links, in the attached flyer, to find food near you. Simply input the zip code where you are and these locators will tell you where the nearest food banks are located, including days and hours of operation, and any other requirements.
It is important to note that food banks run out of food on distribution days. Families should arrive early with plenty of their own bags and a way to get the food back (ex: wagon or cart).
Safe Parking
We are opening a district-partnered safe parking at the old Central and we wanted to send you the referral form. If you have families in cars who need a place to stay, you can refer them here:

Our Youth in Transition team in Counseling and Student Support Services will do the initial outreach and facilitate the intake process. All you need to do is complete this simple referral form and we will take it from there. We are trying to support families with getting in the lot in the next couple of weeks, so refer as soon as you can!

Bancos de Alimentos
Hemos recibido muchas solicitudes de información sobre bancos de alimentos. En San Diego, existen dos proveedores principales de recursos alimentarios: Feeding San Diego y el Banco de Alimentos de San Diego. Operan en diferentes ubicaciones de la ciudad. En el folleto adjunto, les proporcionamos dos enlaces para encontrar alimentos cerca de ustedes. Simplemente ingresen su código postal y estos localizadores les indicarán la ubicación de los bancos de alimentos más cercanos, incluyendo los días y horarios de atención, y cualquier otro requisito.
Es importante tener en cuenta que los bancos de alimentos se quedan sin comida los días de distribución. Las familias deben llegar temprano con suficientes bolsas y un medio para transportar los alimentos (por ejemplo, un carrito o una carretilla).

Nuestro equipo de Jóvenes en Transición, perteneciente a los Servicios de Orientación y Apoyo Estudiantil, se encargará del primer contacto y facilitará el proceso de admisión. Estamos intentando ayudar a las familias a acceder al aparcamiento en las próximas semanas, ¡así que derive las solicitudes cuanto antes!

Dear Carson families,
We want to address the importance of making a complete stop at our crossroads and to always use the crossroads when crossing the street during drop off and pick up.
We want to ask all families, to please take your time and plan accordingly when bringing your student to school on time.
We need to prevent any incidents where our families can get hurt.
Please follow all traffic laws at all times, specially during drop off and pick up times.
